Under-bed Drawers

Under-bed drawers fit under your bed to provide extra storage.  They’re made from birch plywood with a solid timber front panel, mounted on castors and rebated on the bottom edge so they pull out easily. You can fit up to 4 per bed (2 for a small single, single and three-quarter).

We make three versions:
Sahara under-bed drawers can be used with the Sahara, Malabar or Ocean beds.
Tibet under-bed drawers are taller and are used with higher beds, such as the Zanskar, Cochin, Bamford or Camden.
Kyoto under-bed drawers are a narrower version of the Sahara drawers for use with the Kyoto, Osaka or Nara beds.

For the Sahara and Tibet under-bed drawers, a timber side panel can be added if the side of the drawer at the foot of the bed will be visible. Please leave a note at checkout detailing whether you’d like the side panel to be on the left- or right-hand side, or contact us to let us know your preference.

Product Description

Our under bed drawers have a ply storage box (not stained) with a solid wood front panel. Side panels are available for the Tibet and Sahara drawers so the ply box can’t be seen from the front of the bed. Please let us know whether you’d like the side panel/s to be on the left- or right-hand side in the notes at checkout, or get in touch with us! Comes complete with four castors.

These items are made to order. Our lead-time is usually around 8 weeks (+ delivery). This can fluctuate throughout the year, please do get in touch for the most up to date information.

Lacquer Finish:

Our ‘natural-look’ lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad of colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

Sahara and Tibet drawers:

If you have bedside tables next to your bed, we can make each drawer 75cm wide rather than 90cm for the same price. In this case, most bedside tables shouldn’t then obstruct the drawer. In practice, this means you should be able to move the drawers without having to move your bedside table/s. Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss this further before placing your order.
NB: If you want two drawers side by side for a 1.90m long bed we can make the drawers 5cm narrower.

Please note: If you want to use your drawers alongside bedside tables, we can make the 2 drawers on that side of the bed 75cm (or 77cm with side panel) wide, rather than 90cm/92cm, so that the side table doesn’t obstruct the drawer. If you want two drawers side by side for a 1.90m long bed we can make the drawers 5cm narrower.

Please note: ‘Clear Pine’ is finished in our standard, natural-look lacquer. ‘Sanded Pine’ does not have any lacquer/finish at all. They do not look any different from one another, but the ‘sanded’ option does feel slightly rougher to the touch.

All of our prices listed include delivery within the mainland UK. 

Large Items (beds, mattresses, tables, chests, etc.):

Lead in times: our bed bases (and a select few furniture items) are hand made to order in our Sheffield workshop. The lead in time is usually 8 weeks (+ delivery), which can fluctuate throughout the year – get in touch for the latest info.
Please note that ex-display/stock beds, sofa beds, mattresses and some Ethnicraft furniture have differing lead in times, which you will find noted in the description above.

Outside of the Sheffield area, we use a national carrier called BJS. You will be provided an estimated despatch date shortly after your order is placed, and the courier will be in touch with you directly to arrange the delivery date and time slot after they have collected your order.

For customers based in Sheffield, we usually perform delivery in our own vehicle. However, some items are excluded and will instead be shipped with our standard courier, BJS.

Small Items (bedding, homeware, clothing, etc.):

We despatch all of our small items via Royal Mail or ParcelForce. Prices include delivery to mainland UK with an aim to deliver within 3-5 working days.

You can opt for an expedited service, if you would prefer. You can select this option for an additional cost at checkout, which then aims to deliver within 1-2 working days.

Please note, we process and pack orders Monday-Saturday between 10am-5pm, excluding bank holidays. We aim to process orders as soon as possible, with collection booked to occur the day after processing.

    I ordered 2 under bed drawers in oak. The drawers look fantastic under the bed and store more than I thought they would. They look as if they came with the bed.
    From start to finish my experience of the Natural Bed Company has been brilliant, even more so considering it has all taken place during the pandemic. Samples were sent so I could make the best match as the bed had been bought from a different company. I would not normally make a purchase such as this but was so glad I did.
    I very highly recommend this company as their products are so well made and look beautiful. The smell of wood when I opened the packages was lovely. Real craftsmanship. Thank you so very much.
