We often receive enquiries from customers around the world who are interested in adding one of our handcrafted bed frames to their homes. The good news is: yes, we do offer international shipping for our beds.

Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive about placing international orders—helping you understand what to expect if you’re based outside of mainland UK and considering one of our designs.

Please note: While we’re happy to ship our own bed frames and furniture internationally, we’re unable to send items made by other manufacturers outside of mainland UK.

Ordering from Outside of the UK

Can I order timber samples if I’m outside of the UK?

Yes, we’re happy to send samples abroad free of charge. However, it’s our policy to only do so when a quote has also been requested. If you’d like timber samples sent internationally, please let us know:
– Which bed frame(s) you’re considering
– The size 
– The timber(s) you are interested in
– Your full delivery address
We can provide multiple quotes if you’re deciding between a few options. Even if you’ve already placed a timber sample order online, we’ll still need the above details—so please get in touch.

Can I place an order online for delivery outside mainland UK?

No—orders for delivery outside mainland UK must be placed by phone or email. This is because we need to provide a custom delivery quote before your order can be confirmed.
Depending on your location, we may be able to remove UK VAT from the price.
Please provide:
– The bed design
– Size (please provide this in cm, not just “EU king” etc)
– Timber
– Your full delivery address
 
We’ll respond with a quotation and the current lead time. Payment can be made over the phone by credit/debit card or via a secure payment link emailed to you.

What if I live on an offshore island?

If you’re based on an offshore island (e.g. Northern Ireland, Jersey), the website will take payment for your order, but we still need to arrange a shipping quote separately. This will be emailed to you once your order is being processed.
However, we strongly recommend contacting us first, so we can provide a complete quote (bed + shipping) upfront.

For customers in Jersey or Guernsey:

If you place your order through the website, UK VAT will be charged but refunded once the order has been processed. Alternatively, we can provide a full quote excluding VAT if you get in touch by email before ordering. Again, we strongly recommend this.

I need a non-UK standard size bed – is this possible?

Absolutely! Since all our bed bases are handmade to order, we can craft your bed to any size. Just let us know the exact dimensions in centimetres, as terms like “king” or “queen” can vary between countries.
Beds wider than 180cm will be supplied with solid Pine slats instead of our standard Beech sprung slats. Extra-large beds may also require additional support legs or centre rails.

Charges for Overseas Orders

How much will I pay for international shipping?

Shipping costs vary depending on:
– The item(s) you’re ordering. Both the size and value can affect the costs
– The delivery destination
We cannot provide flat rates, but we’re happy to create a tailored quote. Visit our International Orders Blog to see the info we need from you to get started.
Please note: Shipping quotes are subject to change, especially due to our long lead times. We’ll always aim to secure the best possible rate, and we’ll notify you before dispatch if the quote changes.
If the price increase is small, we may cover the difference. If the change is significant, we’ll have to pass the cost on to you. Likewise, if the cost drops, we’ll pass the savings on.

Will I have to pay customs fees?

Some countries charge additional customs fees or carrier handling charges. Unfortunately, we can’t predict or reimburse these. Please check with your local customs office before placing an order to understand what charges may apply.

Can you mark my order as a gift to avoid customs?

Sorry—we are unable to mark orders as gifts. All items are processed as retail sales and will be declared accordingly.

Shipping Natural Bed Company Orders Internationally

We partner with international couriers to ship our beds overseas. Once your order is ready and payment is complete, we’ll arrange for it to be collected.

Do you ship your products overseas?

Yes—we can ship any bed frames or furniture we make ourselves internationally. However, we cannot ship third-party items such as bedding, homeware, or furniture made by other manufacturers outside of mainland UK.
This restriction also applies to Northern Ireland. If an order is placed via our website for such products, it will unfortunately need to be cancelled and refunded.

How long does delivery take?

Our bed bases are handmade to order, with a typical lead time of around 8 weeks, depending on how busy we are (sometimes slightly more or less).
Once dispatched, delivery usually takes 3–5 working days, depending on customs processing. We’ll send tracking details once your order is with the courier.

Can I arrange my own shipping?

Yes—if you’d prefer to use your own courier, just let us know. We’ll provide everything they need for collection and export.
Please note: In this case, we are legally required to charge VAT, which can be refunded once you provide proof of export. You may then be responsible for paying your local sales tax and any applicable import duties.

Returns

We hope you’ll love your new furniture, but in case something isn’t right, here’s what to expect.

Can I return my order once it has arrived?

Yes—you may return your order in line with our standard returns policy. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full details.
Keep in mind: International returns are often more expensive than the original delivery, as they are considered domestic collections. We’re happy to provide a return shipping quote on request.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We take great care in packing all items securely. However, if your item arrives damaged, we’re here to help.
Important: Any damage discovered after unpacking must be reported within 3 days of delivery. We cannot accept claims made after this period.
