Ethnicraft is a company we have long admired, both for its design sense and its ecological and ethical credentials. The Ethnicraft ethos is similar to our own – to create beautifully crafted, long-lasting furniture – both in style terms and in build quality. “Our design philosophy is to create simple, authentic & functional furniture in a timeless, contemporary design with respect for the environment and our society… Our oak collection is authentic, warm and natural. Ethnicraft was established in 1995 by Antwerp entrepreneur Philippe Delaisse. They have their head office in Boom (Belgium) and offices in Marseille (France), manufacturing their collection of solid oak furniture in Serbia. Ethnicraft employ 2000 people around the world.
Ethnicraft use French and Serbian oak sourced from managed forests in Europe. The oak is finished with a pigmented hardwax oil for a soft, almost matte look.
We are offering a range of Ethnicraft oak bedside tables including the Frame, Azur, Thin and Madra units. The stylish, simple designs suit our contemporary beds. The Thin bedside table is made up of a slender, solid oak top and square section stainless steel base – at 35cm in height the Thin table works well with our Nevada & Sahara beds. We like to pair the chunkier Madra and Frame oak bedside units with our Japanese style beds – the Kyoto and Kumo beds. The Kubus is a wide side table perfect for a larger bedroom (or in the lounge!), it has a useful magazine storage slot. The Azur modern tables with an open cube design, for a similar table with a handy drawer take a look at the Natural Bed Company Cube tables. Ethnicraft offer a range of elegant, and incredibly useful, chests of drawers. We currently have the Nordic, Flat or Azur chests available – all are in solid oak and perfect for the bedroom. Many of theses designs have matching bedside tables, consoles or cupboards available – please contact us for more information.
If pairing these drawer units with our bed designs – you will find that any of our solid oak beds (with the new natural finish) will work well with the any item from the Ethnicraft storage collection! Personally I like to pair the oak Shetland bed with items from the Nordic collection – both designs have sections of timber which appear slim from the front, but deep when viewed side on. The Flat storage looks great with our Kulu, Kyoto or Ki beds, while I particularly like the Nevada, Sahara and Malabar beds with the Azur range.
Ethnicraft also offer a wide range of storage cupboards – you’re almost sure to find your perfect size and configuration to meet your requirements for any room in the house. Ethnicraft offer a range of handy low storage units that are ideal for sitting at the end of your bed, providing extra storage space for bedding, slippers or to hold a TV and DVD player! To complete your bedroom scheme you may also want to add a console unit – a compact desk that can act as a dressing table or extra storage space for your phone, keys etc.
